Visitar las Cuevas de Hércules en Tánger es muy fácil… y barato, pues se entrada es gratuita. No existen taquillas ni billetes ni peajes específicos para llegar hasta aquí. Algunos carteles en las inmediaciones te indicarán el camino a seguir.
Las cuevas de Hércules son unas grutas naturales situadas en la línea de costa a unos 14 kilómetros
al oeste de esta ciudad, es decir, a unos 5 kilómetros del cabo Espartel.
Se trata de una gran cueva con entrada desde el mar y desde tierra, formada por la erosión del mar y del viento, vista desde el frente, tiene la forma del continente africano, como podrá apreciarse cuando se ve dicha abertura desde dentro y con el hermoso fondo del mar al otro lado.
No obstante, su nombre y fama nos lleva a tiempos inmemoriales y
mitológicos: según los griegos, el gran héroe Heracles (el Hércules romano)
pernoctó aquí antes de emprender su undécimo trabajo, es decir, robar las manzanas en el Jardín de las Hespérides.
Quedamos muy impactados por la vista que se tiene del mar Mediterráneo.

Esta sin duda alguna fue lo más ingenioso que vimos en nuestra aventura, un lugar asignado para pasear en camellos con unos pocos artesanos locales tratando de vender sus productos.
